It is with deep sadness that we share the news that Berwyn Fire Company Life Member Douglas 'Doug' Miller has passed away. Doug began as a volunteer here in 1964 and served as a Firefighter and Engineer. Despite moving out of the Berwyn area in the mid 80's he still maintained his membership with the fire company throughout the years. Doug was the first of three life members from the Miller family at Berwyn that include his late brother Bruce and nephew Vincent. Doug also represents one of many Millers who have served with fire companies in the Collegeville / Trappe communities over the years. Doug was also a Life Member of the Collegeville Fire Company where he served as an Engineer, Assistant Chief and Vice President.

Whether it was on a call, at a fire company meeting, banquet or conversations over morning coffee in the back room he was always willing to share his knowledge and experience with the younger members. Doug's friendship to the members of Berwyn Fire Company and service to our community will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time.

Collegeville Fire Company is handling the arrangements for the funeral services with Berwyn's participation to honor his 52 years of volunteer service.

Friday, October 28th - Visitation for family and friends to call from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at St. Lukes United Church of Christ in Trappe.

Saturday, October 29th - Visitation from 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. at St. Lukes United Church of Christ in Trappe with Memorial Service to follow.

Following the Memorial Service, there will be a short procession down to Trinity Church so Doug can take a final ride aboard Collegeville Rescue 34. A luncheon will then be held at Trinity Church following the procession, all are welcome to attend.
