Company Overview
Founded in 1894 the Berwyn Fire Company is a non profit (501c3) organization that provides fire suppression, rescue, EMS, and fire prevention services for the people who live, work and travel through 14 square miles of Tredyffrin & Easttown townships with a population of 30,338 residents. The coverage area spans north to south from Valley Forge National Park to Newtown Square. East to west from the Chester County line in Strafford to roughly the middle of both townships, including sections of US Route 202 and the PA turnpike. Click here for a map.
With an annual budget of approximately $2.1 million, our combination of 70 volunteers, 10 full-time employees and 28 part-time employees responds to over 2,150 ambulance calls and 900 fire calls annually. In addition to emergency calls, our Fire and EMS responders spend approximately 1,000 hours per year training for those emergencies. A fleet of 12 emergency vehicles are at our disposal to respond at a moments notice to any kind of emergency or scenario 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
All of our units are dispatched through the Chester County Department of Emergency Services via the 9-1-1 Call Center located in West Chester, PA and operate on a trunked 800Mhz radio system. With a variety of pre-planning and automatic mutual aid from our neighboring fire companies, Berwyn is always prepared.

The Berwyn Fire Company exists to provide timely and effective response to fire, medical, and rescue emergencies to the residents, businesses, and visitors of Tredyffrin and Easttown Townships in accordance with nationally recognized and professional standards. The Berwyn Fire Company also provides prevention, and emergency preparedness services to our community and members.
