BERWYN, PA - Congratulations to Berwyn Fire Company Volunteer Firefighter Jack Nudy on completing the PA Entry Level Firefighter Program at the Chester County Public Safety Training Center.

Jack is a Easttown Township resident and joined the Company in 2020 while attending Conestoga High School. Jack worked through a sports related injury and spent the better part of the year working through the final portion of the 188 hours of the PA Entry Level Firefighter Program - Firefighter I. This included training in hazardous materials, exterior firefighting, interior firefighting, incident command system, and First Aid/CPR.

Jack’s family has a longstanding record of service to the T-E community, where he serves alongside his father Fred who joined the Company in 1985 and his sister Emily who joined in 2019. His late grandfather also served as President and was involved as an EMS provider and fire police officer.

This upcoming fall, he will be attending his sophomore year at West Chester University. Strong work Jack!

As of 2022, Berwyn is one of only 31 fire service organizations in the entire Commonwealth of Pennsylvania at the Gold or 100% level in the Pennsylvania Office of the State Fire Commissioner Participating Department Recognition Program. Only 3 total fire companies in Chester County are recognized at this level which includes Berwyn, Lionville and First West Chester.
