BERWYN, PA - As the area continues to see heavy rainfall today, please DO NOT drive through flooded roadways.

Although the bulk of this first round of storms today concentrated over the easternmost portion of the T-E community, the future radar looks worse as the day progresses.

Berwyn firefighters have responded to a water rescue assisting the Radnor Fire Company at 11:48 a.m. on S. Wayne Ave. in Radnor Township and another one at 1:28 p.m. on Lancaster Avenue in Tredyffrin Township near the ACME.

The following are important points to remember when driving in flooding conditions:

~ Six inches of water will reach the bottom of most passenger cars causing loss of control and possible stalling.
~ A foot of water will float many vehicles.
~ Two feet of rushing water can carry away most vehicles including sport utility vehicles (SUV's) and pick-ups.
~ Do not drive through or past barricades, caution tape, cones or flares as they are meant to protect you. Find an alternative route!!!
