Multiple Cars Damaged in Devon Fire

BERWYN, PA - The Berwyn Fire Company was dispatched at 11:48 a.m. to the 700 block of Lancaster Avenue in Tredyffrin Township for an automobile fire.

Berwyn Assistant Chief 2 arrived on scene with multiple cars on fire behind the Ed Forde Service Center. A shed and storage container were also in close proximity to the fire.

The crew of Berwyn Engine 2-3 began extinguishing the fire as Engine 2-2 supplied additional water to the scene.

The fire was quickly extinguished and firefighters also placed absorbent material on the ground due to leaking oil and gas from the vehicles.

There were no reported injuries and the main building on the property was undamaged. The Chester County Fire Marshals Office was notified. The fire started in the engine compartment of one of the previously damaged vehicles in the parking lot.

The Tredyffrin Township Police Department provided traffic control in the area of Lancaster Avenue and Berkely Road during the incident.

All personnel and units cleared the scene by 1:00 p.m.
