BERWYN, PA - The Berwyn Fire Company would like to recognize all those service men and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in defense of the United States of America. Without their will to fight and the support of their loved ones, we would not enjoy the freedoms that exist in our democratic society.
The National Moment of Remembrance, established by Congress, asks Americans, wherever they are at 3 p.m., local time, on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27th to pause in an act of national unity for a duration of one minute. The time 3 p.m. was chosen because it is the time when most Americans are enjoying their freedoms on the national holiday. The Moment does not replace traditional Memorial Day events; rather, it is an act of national unity in which all Americans, alone or with family and friends, honor those who died in service to the United States.
Berwyn first responders will also take part in the Radnor Memorial Day Parade and will provide an escort for WWII Veteran and Berwyn Life Member Buford Cline to open the evening events at the prestigious Devon Horse Show.
