BERWYN, PA – The Berwyn Fire Company is proud to announce significant organizational changes aimed at enhancing its ability to serve the community effectively. The Company has promoted four of its Lieutenants to the rank of Battalion Chief, collectively bringing over 100 years of service experience to their new roles.
The newly promoted Battalion Chiefs are:
Battalion Chief Christopher Drach (FF/EMT) Battalion Chief Sheryl Drach (FF/EMT) Battalion Chief Brian Garver (FF/AEMT) Battalion Chief Christopher McDonald (FF/Paramedic)
This decision, made after careful consideration and consultation with company leadership, reflects Berwyn Fire Company's commitment to recognizing excellence within its ranks and ensuring strong leadership for its operations. These newly promoted Battalion Chiefs have consistently demonstrated invaluable knowledge of the local area, policies, and operations throughout their extensive careers.
"Our new Battalion Chiefs - Brian, Chris, Sheryl, and Chris - will play crucial roles in coordinating daily fire and EMS operations," said Justin Brundage, Fire Chief of Berwyn Fire Company. "Their expertise and leadership, honed over an a century of combined service, will further enhance our emergency response capabilities and community safety. We're incredibly proud of their extraordinary commitment to protecting the Tredyffrin and Easttown communities."
Chief Brundage added, "This level of dedication is truly remarkable. Having over 100 years of combined experience in our leadership positions provides an unparalleled depth of knowledge and understanding of our community's needs."
These promotions are part of a broader strategy to ensure effective operations and oversight within the department. The initiative, which has been in development for several years, began under the leadership of former Chief Eamon Brazunas and represents a significant step forward for the organization.
As a result of these promotions, Berwyn Fire Company will be filling the open career Lieutenant positions within the next year. This transition creates new opportunities for career advancement within the organization and marks an important step in establishing a defined career path for full-time career staff.
"We deeply appreciate the contributions of all our full-time and part-time career staff," Chief Brundage stated. "Their dedication and hard work form the backbone of our organization. These changes not only strengthen our ability to serve the community but also foster the professional growth of our personnel, inspired by the exemplary careers of our newly promoted Battalion Chiefs."
