BERWYN, PA - The Berwyn Fire Company was dispatched at 9:41 a.m. to Route 202 North prior to the Valley Forge Road exit in Tredyffrin Township for a motor vehicle collision. The initial 9-1-1 report indicated two-vehicles involved with unknown injuries.
Berwyn Squad 2 and MICU 102 arrived on location with a vehicle engulfed in flames in the middle of the highway and another vehicle into the concrete barrier on the shoulder.
As firefighters began extinguishing the flames, the Tredyffrin Township Police Department shut down traffic flow to provide for a safe zone to operate. Fortunately the driver of was able to get out before the fire overtook the inside of the car.
Berwyn Ambulance 2-3 arrived shortly thereafter and worked with MICU 102 to treat both injured drivers.
Berwyn MICU 102 and Ambulance 2-3 each transported a patient to Paoli Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The scene was cleaned up and highway reopened by 11 a.m. |
